SALES VOLUME & VALUE RISE!
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in September 2015 was up 15.6% from September 2014 volume and the total value of sales was up 16.1% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 4.3% from the previous year. There was a 0.2% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from September 2014 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 2.6%; Total Value of Sales is up 0.2%; Individual Sales Value is up 1.9%; Mortgage Volume is up 17.9%.
Register Meade reports that there were 704 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in September 2015 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $343,050,647.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in September was $343,250.00.
There were 981 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in September with a total value of $359,572,433.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $250,000.00.
By way of comparison, there were 609 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in September 2014 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $295,393,590.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in September was $329,000.00.
There were 979 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in September with a total value of $303,363,089.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $216,000.00.
